Restaurant was pretty full, the service was ok (she had a lot do). Food was pretty good. The cheesecake is not to recommend, it is very hard not creamy

Second visit to this location ... It's local, I'm local, benefit of the doubt & all that. But this will be our last visit. Waited an hour to be seated, 15 minutes for drinks & now on hour two (y'all, I'm only here because it was my kiddos' pick) and still waiting on a SINGLE REFILL. Also: restaurant is more than half-empty so definitely not a case of a server being overseated - just incredibly poor service. Frankly, too many excellent restaurants where the service is better to spend another $40 here (yep - $40 for two kid meals & one adult meal, no apps & nothing fancy to eat).

Food was good. . Service was poor. .. and all you can eat shrimp. .. you get one serving and when you are done they want to bring you the second serving that you asked for 15 minutes ago. :-\

This is the third or fourth time I've been disappointed with the takeout order. The steak was overdone, the shrimp was missing, the loaded potatoe fixings were not all there. It was as though they didn't even look at the order! We had to go back and get the shrimp. No more chances. I give up.

We dined on a Sunday night and found the restaurant to be lightly populated. Of course, we were seated immediately by a very friendly hostess. I noticed right away that they have brought back many of my old favorites like French onion soup. That was a good sign. Unfortunately one of the last. I selected the herb roasted prime rib a little pink if possible. I know it is hard sometimes to cook a large cut of meat to suite everyone. It was well done but still tender and juicy. The salt crusted baked potato was under done and on the small side. My butter on the side was just that on the side. Unfortunately I never discovered whose side it was on. Green beans was the veggie on the plate. All nicely lined up and shriveled up like a bunch of old men. Wait a minute that's me! To save time and space let me just say that my dinner partners ordered chicken fingers on one side and a white fish/crab meat concoction on the other. Both meals were complaint free but nothing to write home to mother about. Service was abysmal. This young lady, after taking our dinner order, never returned until I complained and I assume by her attitude was chewed out. I had to get a waiter from another table to help us out with condiments and drink refills. I made sure he got the tip. The only icing on this cake would be if I broke a tooth.......which I did. Darn, I should have stayed home.

I made the trip to the island to check out this Outback after a dreadful experience earlier in the week at my local restaurant. It was Sunday night, we arrived and were immediately seated. The waitress was quick to take our drink order and appetizers. And this is where it all went down hill. 15 minutes after taking the order, our waters and bread arrived. Another 15 minutes later and received my cheese fries, with less than a teaspoon of cheese and bacon on them. I sent the order back, and quickly got another one properly loaded up....but it looked like it had been sitting in the window waiting for the past half hour. Moving foreword our soup and salad arrives. Once again, my French onion soup had almost no cheese on it and the bowl was half full. Send it back and got a new one correctly made. My girlfriends house salad was a pile of lettuce with 3 croutons and a couple pieces of tomato thrown on there. The server also forgot to bring out her side of ranch. Didn't end up sending that back, she had already waited long enough for food. On to the main course. My girlfriends coconut shrimp came out 10 minutes before my steak, and it was missing the side ordered along with it. The side finally showed up with my meal, which I ended up sending back due to my steak being stone cold to the touch. At this point we got the manager involved. Apologies were made and we set off for desert. Fortunately, they got that right. They comped the food that they incorrectly made and we were off back home, nearly two hours later. Bottom line, I am disappointed to say that I will not be recommending any outback in the hilton head area.

We avoid chains, but our favorite HHI restaurant was closed, so we took a chance and were pleasantly surprised by the decor. Sophisticated steakhouse design, subdued lighting, and comfortable seating. Nice bar, too, and good service. Those are the pluses. Food was middling, however. House salad was pedestrian, bread was under-cooked and -- worst of all -- the ribeye was thin, fatty and stringy rather than "marbled" as promised. The seasoning overwhelmed the beef flavor, if there actually was any in the first place. Those are the negatives, but it's a high-volume chain, after all, right? A $4 22-oz. Stella draft and $25 Malbec eased the pain, however. Definitely not a destination for us.

I enjoy outback and am not expecting a Ruth's Chris experience but this was abysmal. We had to wait 25 minutes to be seated only to see half of the tables empty. When the waitress finally showed, we ordered drinks that took 15 minutes to arrive. Steaks were not cooked right. Despite the clearly exasperated kids, it took 30 minutes to process the check. Not what I expect out of this chain.

Hostess did not take our drink orders and it was several minutes before the waitress came out to take our order. Husband's steak was not cooked to order (supposed to be rare, my medium had more pink), waitress never came back to check on us or refill drinks. It was only 3pm so not even prime lunch or dinner time where they would be busy. Definitely don't want to go back.

We have been loyal customers of this outback for the past 8 years. The service was quick, food was great, and they had amazing people working there. Now it takes forever for curbside, the food is tasteless and sloppy, and at times I feel as though I have to beg for service. Do not waste your time with the no rules Parmesan pasta.

I was a little let down having to settle for a chain site to dine at but we went to 3 other restaurants in the area and all were closed til 5. We just finished golfing and needed to eat. We went here and I have to tell you the expectation was low. Man was I wrong. That porterhouse pork chop was very good and the asparagus was the best I ever had. (Sorry Brian), I was very the way the cards fell for this dining experience. It changed my perspective of chain restaurants. Outback has the food dialed in and I will return when the pickings are slim or wide. Definitely a choice from now on.

We haven't been here for five years because it was so bad back then, and things haven't changed much. Went for a meal tonight and were seated next to a crying baby. I went up to the hostess and very quietly asked her if she could seat us elsewhere. Anyway, before I got back to our table the mother had taken the baby outside, so we stayed where we were: but at the end of our meal when we leaving, two of the kids at the same table started saying something to me and I asked their father what they were saying and off he went about people going behind their backs and complaining about their baby to the hostess and he didn't like that and his kids didn't like that etc. etc. Clearly the hostess thought it was the right thing to do to tell them that I was complaining about their baby crying next to me, not very appropriate behavior because all I asked was that she move us to another table. Clearly she thought I was in the wrong for asking for another table, even though I am at least twice as old as the father of that family with the three kids and don't really enjoy having crying babies next to me when I'm eating. So if you like eating in.a restaurant full of crying children and want to be accosted by men half your age and twice your weight and probably packing heat, this is the place for you. The food is what you would expect for this type of clientele. They were sold out of prime rib and the lobster had been ripped from its mother's breast. What can I say? You get what you pay for in life.

I was so shocked with this Outback. The service was terrible, but the food was worse. When the server set my plate down in front of me, my husband said, "that looks like dog food" (it was supposed to be a steak) and the waitress replied - "it did not look good to me either!" We ended up sending our food back and leaving after 50 minutes and a glass of tea. There is a way better Outback in Bluffton - worth the drive!

Went here for a nice dinner while we were on vacation in Hilton Head. Our visit started off well. It was 'Happy Hour' so drinks were on special. We ordered an appetizer, a mixed drink, and a large beer. The service was fast and we got our order. Everything was good. We placed out dinner orders and I ordered a chopped salad. Hubby ordered another beer and a burger. We found out the beer he wanted was being changed and they gave him a bottle. The waiter said it was free since they couldn't give him the draft. Good for us we were thinking... free beer. Then they brought out our food. Now I've been to an Outback Steakhouse here in IL (several times) and I've had the chopped salad before. It was a nice bowlful. This looked like a handful dumped in a big bowl. While it was good, it wasn't at all what I've had before. Then we're told that the draft still isn't ready, so we got the check. Guess what... They charged us for the 'free' beer. When we inquired about it with the manager, she said she discounted it (charging us the 'Happy Hour' price). I said that we were told we wouldn't be charged for it since it wasn't what he wanted. She again said that she discounted it. Being on vacation, it wasn't worth the fight. We paid and left. While the service was good (except for the bill), the overall experience wasn't very pleasant.

Blooming onion was half the size it used to be. Downsized I guess. Three steaks, all cold. Medium rare, more like raw. :(

Like all Outbacks the steak and Sweet Potato was great. Our waitress Pam made it a special experience! While in Hilton Head if you want to go to a friendly place to eat go there and make sure Pam is your waitress she was great!

This place was amazing!!!! From the service to the food, everything was great! We didnt have but a five minute wait! Also the happy hour specials they offer are really good. We have been to Outbacks all over the country but this one really stands out!! A little hard to find, but its next to Barnes and Noble in the Festival Center. We will be back!!

I give up.

Ate dinner at the bar. Great service. Outback special was cooked perfectly. Not crowded , early dinner around 530pm. Hard to find , building is in the woods.

Never have good service, food is alright. Service is absolutely awful. Have left several times due to waitresses with bad attitudes.

A great meal for travel weary vacationers. Thick chop cooked to my preference, warm and lovely bread! Good service, nice interior renovations. It is a chain, but every night is not necessarily a gourmet experience when you've a family of 4.

(1)Jill M.

Good tender steak, cooked as ordered. The only exception to the Outback -expected experience was the server. As efficient and about as friendly as the nazis running Germany during WWII. No How is everything or Do you need anything else? Just ruthless efficiency. God forbid we need more water or some steak sauce.

So consistent with OSI product. However service was spotty at best. Ribeye was extremely fatty. Not your norm. Until next time.
